Levagen®+ PEA, the palmitoylethanolamide supplement made to absorb

PEA is a compound your own body makes, yet standard PEA supplements are poorly absorbed. Levagen®+ uses LipiSperse® technology so more PEA reaches your bloodstream, as part of one daily ritual.

What is PEA (palmitoylethanolamide)?

Palmitoylethanolamide, or PEA, is a fatty acid amide that your cells make naturally. It belongs to a family of compounds called ALIAmides and is also found in small amounts in foods like egg yolks, peanuts and soya.

Levagen®+ (Levagen Plus) is a dispersible form of PEA made by Gencor using LipiSperse®, the same cold water dispersion technology behind HydroCurc®. Instead of taking a separate PEA supplement, you get 375mg of Levagen®+ in one daily serving of Daily Vitals.

The absorption problem

Why standard PEA supplements struggle to absorb

PEA is a fat-loving molecule with a large particle size. In the watery environment of your gut it does not mix well, so much of a standard dose passes through without being absorbed.

Many PEA supplements try to fix this by micronising the powder into smaller particles. Levagen®+ takes a different route, coating the PEA itself so it disperses in water.

How it works

How Levagen®+ improves PEA absorption

LipiSperse® does not change the PEA molecule. It changes how PEA behaves in water, so more of it is available to be absorbed.

Step 1
Coated
Each PEA particle is wrapped in LipiSperse®, a thin layer drawn to PEA on one side and to water on the other.
2 Illustration of coated Levagen®+ PEA particles dispersing evenly through water instead of clumping
Step 2
Dispersed
The coated particles spread through the fluid in your gut instead of sticking together, leaving more surface area exposed.

Step 3
Absorbed
More PEA in contact with the gut wall means more can pass into the bloodstream, which is why Levagen®+ reached higher plasma levels than standard PEA.

Levagen®+ vs standard PEA supplements

Not all palmitoylethanolamide supplements are made the same way.

PEA supplement questions

PEA and Levagen®+

What is PEA?

PEA is short for palmitoylethanolamide, a fatty acid amide your cells make naturally. It is also found in small amounts in foods like egg yolks, peanuts and soya.

Is Levagen®+ the same as PEA?

Levagen®+ is PEA, around 90% active, combined with LipiSperse® so it disperses in water. In a human study it reached around 1.75 times higher blood levels than standard PEA.

What are the benefits of PEA?

PEA has been studied in areas including exercise recovery and sleep quality, and research is ongoing. These are research areas, not claims about Daily Vitals.

Where does Levagen®+ come from?

Levagen®+ is made by Gencor. The PEA is derived from sustainably sourced palm kernel.

What are the side effects of PEA (palmitoylethanolamide)?

Levagen®+ was well tolerated in the published trials. As with any supplement, do not exceed the recommended daily dose.

How much PEA is in Daily Vitals?

375mg of Levagen®+ in every daily serving of three capsules.

Can I take PEA with HydroCurc®?

Yes. Daily Vitals contains both, 375mg of Levagen®+ and 500mg of HydroCurc® turmeric, and both use LipiSperse® technology.

When is the best time to take a PEA supplement?

You can take Daily Vitals at any time of day. Most people find it easiest to remember with breakfast.

Can I take it with medication?

If you take any prescription medicine, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, speak to your GP or pharmacist before taking a PEA supplement.

Is it gluten free?

No. LipiSperse® contains oat lecithin, so Daily Vitals is not suitable if you have a gluten sensitivity or intolerance.

What else is in Daily Vitals?

Levagen®+ sits alongside nine other ingredients. See the full list of Daily Vitals ingredients and doses.
